1. Initial Equipment Assessment & Right to Refuse Service
30-Day Evaluation Period
A mandatory equipment inspection will be scheduled within 30 days of membership enrollment. ComfortGuard reserves the right to cancel membership with a full refund if the equipment is found to pose immediate safety hazards, is beyond economical repair (repair costs exceed 60% of replacement value), exceeds 20 years of age (subject to case-by-case evaluation), has been improperly maintained creating excessive liability risk, or contains code violations or unsafe modifications.
Equipment Disqualification Criteria
- Cracked heat exchangers or other combustion safety issues.
- Major refrigerant leaks (defined as >1 lb/year).
- Electrical systems not meeting current local safety codes.
- Ductwork with leakage greater than 40%.
- Systems with unauthorized or "jury-rigged" modifications.
